February saw SEA CAPE hosting the final three of the five ASEAN@50 Fellows with a series of academic seminars and public lectures in Auckland, Hamilton, Dunedin and Wellington.

These outstanding scholars from the region: Thitinan Pongsudhirak (Thailand), Nguyen Duc Thanh (Vietnam) and Aries Ayuson Arugay (Philippines), provided insightful views on ASEAN’s future and New Zealand’s relationship with the region. The topics they covered ranged from security, economics to regional governance.

The audience, including students, public servants, academics, media and general public with interests in the regions, were captivated by their talks and were fully engaged in the Q & A sessions.
